Chaplaincy Program

We have the wonderful assistance of the Chaplaincy Program at Berwick Fields Primary School which is supported by CHIPS (Christians Helping In Primary Schools). It is relational in nature and builds bridges of trust, confidence and competency among students, staff and parents. The Chaplaincy program promotes unconditional acceptance and the building of self esteem and hope through games, art, sharing and teaching activities. It is not a religious program, rather a way of helping individuals to connect and support each other within the school environment. Chaplaincy’s core role is to support the emotional wellbeing of students by providing pastoral care services and strategies that support the emotional wellbeing of the broader school community, as part of our Health and Well Being program. Both one-on-one and group withdrawal sessions are provided, along with occasional weekend camps and day away activities; all of which are offered free of charge.

Our school Chaplain provides support, resources and acceptance to all, regardless of age, race, gender, religious, social or cultural background. The program offers assistance for children and parents who need help dealing with issues such as:

  • social concerns
  • grief and loss
  • parental separation and divorce
  • anxiety and fears
  • behavioural challenges
  • low self esteem
  • peer relationships
  • anger and emotional management

The Chaplaincy service is currently available for two days per week. For more information, please contact the school request a call back from our Chaplain.
